Guardians Assembled
Telltale Games announced the first details of their forthcoming game, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series this weekend at PAX East. In addition to premiering screenshots, the team also announced the game’s voice cast.
Based on the Marvel Entertainment property and popular film – with a sequel on the way – the game will feature Star-Lord (portrayed in the films by Chris Pratt) as the protagonist. Gameplay will take place in the usual Telltale vein, with the player guiding Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians through a choice-driven narrative about a lost alien artifact and each character’s motivation to destroy it.
The voice cast includes Scott Porter (The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Nolan North (Uncharted) as Rocket Raccoon, Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us) as Groot, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax and Emily O’Brien (Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora.
Join the Guardians at SXSW
In addition to the announcement and screenshots at PAX East, on March 17th Telltale Games will present a special “crowd play” of the game at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Audience members will have the chance to use their mobile devices to help decide events in the game, which will be shown on the big screen at the Paramount Theater.
This event will be open to all attendees with either SXSW or SXSW Gaming passes. It will be open on a first-come, first-serve basis and will also be streamed live on Twitch.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will be coming out this spring on multiple platforms, though exact platforms haven’t yet been announced. Additionally, a retail disc version will be available that will include the first episode as well as access to the forthcoming four additional episodes.
