It’s May! Reap the Rewards of Them Blasted April Showers

Are you a fledgling developer/indie gaming enthusiast? Do you live in or near the Greater Toronto Area? Are you looking to get involved in Toronto’s surging indie dev scene? The Hand Eye Society has released a list of upcoming indie gaming events for May, 2013 (Asterisks denote events with direct Hand Eye involvement).

Thursday, May 2nd, 6:30pm-8:30pm EST:
DMG Speaker Social – DMG’s monthly speaking engagements aim to encourage and support women looking to get established in various creative game design roles.

Friday, May 3-5th:
Toronto Game Jam: Haters Gonna Eight Free! Open to the public! Annual! Come and experience the madness as some of the industry’s finest slam their brains together over a 3-day period. What emerges from the mash can only be described as lunacy and genius.

Comics Vs Games 2 Launch Party

Saturday, May 11th:
Bit Bazaar
A unique celebration of the art and craft of indie games in the tradition of zine fairs.
WHERE: Bento Miso // 862 Richmond Street West

* Saturday-Sunday, May 11th-12th:
Comics Vs Games 2, TCAF. Individuals are required to table for this event on May 11th or 12th. Training will be provided. Those interested in volunteering can contact Kaitlin at The Hand Eye Society

Friday, May 17th – 6pm – 10pm:
Skillswap: Sprite Animation and Pixel Art
Marc Chong will be giving you a breakdown of his favorite gaming products reviewed, and then teaching his workflow for sprite animation using pixel art, with a focus on TVPaint and how to streamline the process of animation

Skillswap: The Technical Art of Assassin’s Creed III
