The booming indie scene hasn’t been a roaring success for everyone. Word comes from Dutch indie game developers TwoTribes that after 13 years, they’ve had to eliminate a lot of positions within their operation.
While the parent company, Two Tribes Publishing hasn’t been affected, Two Tribes B.V. – the development unit – is for an intents and purposes, shuttered. Complications in the development cycle for Toki Tori 2 are being cited as a cause.
The founders – Martjin Reuvvers and Collin van Ginkel – remain on board, and a new company has been created to oversee the creation of future games.
The full press release can be found at the official Two Tribes blog. We wish the best of luck to everyone affected.
