The National Association of Broadcasters announced early this morning that they will be transforming the final day of this year’s conference into a Video Game-centered blitzkrieg they are calling “Alternate Reality and Video Game Day.”
BumpTop is an amazing re-visioning of your crusty old 2-D computer desktop real estate that does everything from create a three dimensional space where you can stick post-its or images to the walls, where your most used files appear larger on your desk, where you can simply drop files onto USB keys and more. Released January 2nd 2008, Metal Slug 3 from Japanese developer SNK PLAYMORE CORPORATION, with its fast-paced, multi-path action and gorgeous post 8-bit graphics brings both outstanding and consistently fresh gameplay and legitimately humor entertainment to the XBOX 360 Live Arcade and yet it is conspicuously absent from Microsoft’s own year-end gamers’ polls. Maybe it is somehow considered a 2007 release, or a an original Xbox re-release, but technically it is a 2008 XBLA release and should have figured in this year’s awards. Plus playing as a blood-spewing zombie rules.
For whatever reason this great ad for Xbox 360 never aired. Maybe it’s because society doesn’t mass John Woo styled flash mobs invading airport terminals. Whatever, it rocks. Jump in.

Prior to the Wii’s release, it was leaked that Nintendo was sending free developer kits to small scale game designers. Following that, they announced that indie game designers could get their hands on these kits for less than two thousand dollars. All this made it obvious that Nintendo was opening the door to fresh talent and ideas. Of course, not just anyone can get involved with video game design at Nintendo, as there are still many requirements that have to be met. Here are just a few of them.
One of the things about World of Warcraft that Blizzard got right is how they manage balance the various classes (and when something gets too out of whack or unbalanced, a patch usually attempts to fix (nerf) it.) Another thing a good MMORPG needs is a balance between being able to play solo and to play in groups, guilds, parties and raids. Again, they tend to get this right more than most competitors. With the WotLK expansion release for World Of Warcraft the Death Knight class becomes available for anyone with a level 55 or above toon.
